translation instructionsDear Parents and Guardians,

The Hudson City School District will distribute COVID-19 at-home test kits to district families on Tuesday, January 4th at the back entrance of the Junior High School. Pick up times are from 9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. and from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. The District will offer drive-through and walk-up options to pick up test kits. Parents/Guardians are entitled to one test kit per student.

Upon arrival, please be prepared to provide the district school, name, and home address for each student. We appreciate your patience as there may be some waiting during the pick-up process.

Test kits will be available for distribution at each school after Tuesday for those families unable to pick up kits tomorrow. Test kits can be picked up in the school lobbies from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Monday-Friday).

A couple of reminders:

  • Please do not send your child(ren) to school if they are experiencing any symptoms of illness.
  • Any student who tests positive on an at-home test should immediately report their results to the school and begin isolating. Students testing positive on an at-home test kit must complete a lab-confirmed COVID test as well.
  • Students who test positive must isolate for 10 days and can return to school on Day 11 if they no longer have symptoms. At this time, individuals cannot “test out” of quarantine or isolation.
  • Participating in at-home testing is voluntary. We strongly encourage you to utilize these home test kits for your child(ren) if they are showing symptoms. If you or others in your household need to be tested, please visit https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/find-test-site-near-you to find a nearby testing site.

We are seeing the impact of the Omicron Variant throughout the region and state. We ask for your continued cooperation in following our established COVID protocols, including mask wearing, physical distancing, and staying home when sick. We will continue to keep you updated with any changes to conditions or protocols. Thank you for your continued patience and partnership.

Sincerely,

Dr. April Prestipino
Assistant Superintendent for School Improvement
