1/22/24 Hudson JHS Schoolwide Expectations Letter to Parents PDF

Dear Junior High School Families,

As we embark on the second half of the school year, please review the schoolwide expectations with your child. Recently, we have seen an uptick in the number of students not attending class (cutting) and actively using their cell phones. Please remind your child that the school’s broad expectation is that they are where they are supposed to be when they are supposed to be as per their schedule. This is not only an academic concern but also a safety concern. We must know where each student is in our building.

Cell phone use among students is also becoming a common issue as the school year progresses.  We kindly ask that students refrain from bringing cell phones into the building. If a student needs to bring their cell phone to school, we ask that it be turned off upon entering the building and stored in a locker. Any families needing to contact their student during the school day can contact our Main Office and the Guidance Office, and we will deliver a message.

Violation of these rules will have consequences according to the Code of Conduct. If the violations continue, then the consequences will increase progressively. The goal is to ensure our students are thriving in an academic setting and not losing focus due to outside distractions. Again, we kindly ask for your help and assistance in reiterating our message to your child.

Please feel free to call us or email if you have any questions or concerns. Together we can!

Sincerely Yours,

R. Cooper,                                                K. Behr,
