Students in Ms. Anderson’s art classes recently created beautiful illustrations and worked on new techniques in art!
Grades K-1: The adaptive class explored mixing primary colors to make secondary colors in a tactile way. Students made three paintings with black paint to make different kinds of lines. Then, the classes added color to make paintings about mixing green, orange, and purple. Students also read “Little Blue and Little Yellow” by Leo Lionni.
2nd Grade: Created silhouettes including symbols that represent something about themselves.
4th Grade: Worked incredibly hard on their dream rooms. These rooms were planned out, drawn and built to show what space would make them happy. Students also created 3-D furniture to add to their spaces.
5th Grade: Created reduction prints for social change. Students made prints of a cause they want to advocate for or a change they would like to see in the world or at school.
Student Spotlight: Kaspeya Hasan completed a mixed-media portrait during her lunch period over several days. She drew the rose from observation.
