Dear Hudson City School District Families,

Following dismissal from school yesterday, March 5, 2024, Hudson City School District administration were informed of an altercation between two Hudson Junior/Senior High School students on a school bus. After the situation was resolved, administrators were informed overnight that one of the students involved in the altercation received a text message from an unknown number with a photo depicting weapons, threatening the student to not go to school on Wednesday, March 6, 2024.

The situation is currently under active investigation by the Hudson City Police Department, and the District cannot comment further. The students involved in the altercation on March 5, 2024 were instructed to not come to school today. Out of an abundance of caution, an increased police presence at Hudson Junior/Senior High school was requested by the District and provided by the Hudson City Police Department.

As always, the District takes all claims and threats seriously and investigates them to the fullest extent. We encourage you to speak to your student(s) about the importance of reporting any suspicious activity to an adult as soon as possible.

Please know that the health and safety of our students and staff is our main priority. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the district office at 518-828-4360, or contact your building principal. Thank you for your attention to this important information.
